Legal & privacy
The legal position in New Zealand
Medicinal cannabis is legal in New Zealand on prescription under the Medicinal Cannabis Scheme, which commenced on 1 April 2020 and is administered by the Ministry of Health's Medicinal Cannabis Agency. Recreational cannabis remains illegal — possession, supply and cultivation for non-medical purposes are criminal offences. The 2020 referendum on recreational legalisation did not pass.
What mc.nz is — and isn't
mc.nz is an independent education and navigation resource. We do not sell, supply, import, or facilitate the supply of cannabis. We do not provide medical advice. We connect interested patients with registered prescribers who make all clinical decisions.
Privacy
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020. Where you submit details through a callback or lead form, we will only use and share them for the purpose you consented to — namely, helping connect you with a partnered clinic — and we will keep them secure. This site is an early-stage scaffold; live lead handling, a full privacy policy, and a compliant CRM will be in place before any real patient data is collected.
Affiliate & referral disclosure
mc.nz intends to earn revenue through clinic referral and lead-generation arrangements, premium verified-provider listings, newsletter sponsorship, and selected non-cannabis affiliate products. Where a relationship could influence what you see, we will disclose it clearly. Editorial content and clinical information are kept independent of commercial relationships.
